Leila Ganjehei, MD

Dr. Leila Ganjehei is a cardiologist who wants to make a real difference in her patients’ lives by preventing and treating cardiovascular disease. She has always been interested in how the body works and the quick thinking involved in patient care. She was especially drawn to cardiology because it combines complex medical care with the chance to help patients through some of their hardest moments.

Dr. Ganjehei specializes in cardiology and cares for adult patients aged 18 and older. She treats a wide range of heart conditions, including coronary artery disease, heart failure and arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia and ventricular tachycardia. Her special clinical interests include coronary artery disease and arrhythmia care.

She earned her medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences and completed her internal medicine residency at Mount Auburn Hospital, Harvard Medical School. She completed her cardiology fellowship at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. She is also a member of several organizations, including the American Medical Association, American Heart Association, Heart Failure Society, American Society for Cell Biology and the American College of Physicians.

Patients often describe Dr. Ganjehei (or Dr. G, as she prefers her patients to call her) as thorough, caring and easy to talk to. She takes time to listen carefully and explain conditions and treatment options in a clear way, while working to make sure patients feel heard, respected and comfortable taking part in decisions about their care. Patients appreciate that she truly cares about their well-being and treats them the same way she would want her own family members to be treated.

Dr. G’ s approach to care is based on compassion, respect and personalized attention. She believes care should focus not only on treating disease, but also on helping patients feel informed, supported and confident throughout their health journey. She finds the most joy in helping patients feel better, easing their worries and building long-term relationships based on trust.

Outside of work, Dr. Ganjehei enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys artwork and sculpting, gardening and trying new restaurants with loved ones.
