Professional Statement
From a young age, Dr. Julia Clem was drawn to caring for others, whether she was bringing soup to a sick friend or offering comfort with a blanket. That early instinct grew into a fascination with medicine and how the human body, medications and healthy habits all work together to shape a person's life.
Dr. Clem specializes in family medicine and treats patients of all ages, from infants to older adults. She cares for a broad range of acute and chronic conditions, including obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, depression, ADHD, asthma, COPD and heart failure. Her practice also includes HIV prevention, women's health services such as cervical cancer screening and Nexplanon insertion and prenatal care for uncomplicated pregnancies. She has a special interest in working with adolescents and young adults as they build healthy habits for life.
She earned her medical degree from the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Medicine and completed her family medicine residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Northwest. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association.
Patients often describe Dr. Clem as compassionate, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. She listens carefully, treats every patient without judgment and explains information clearly in plain language. Dr. Clem takes special care to help patients reduce their risk of chronic disease and improve patients’ lives through evidence-based lifestyle interventions. Visits with her are collaborative, and she works with each patient to build a personalized plan that fits their needs and goals.
Her greatest joys at work come from watching patients make progress, whether that means losing weight, improving mental health or lowering blood pressure. She believes healthcare works best when it's built on trust and communication between doctor and patient. This partnership can help patients live healthier, more active and more fulfilling lives for years to come.
Outside of work, Dr. Clem enjoys spending time with her three rescue dogs, listening to audiobooks, exploring the outdoors and refurbishing furniture.
