About

Professional Statement

Dr. Diane Eapen was inspired to pursue medicine by watching family members dedicate their lives to caring for others. That example, combined with a deep fascination with human biology and a desire to serve people during life's most vulnerable moments, made medicine feel like the perfect calling.

Dr. Eapen specializes in internal medicine and treats adult patients ages 18 and older. She was drawn to internal medicine because it lets her build long-term relationships with patients while helping them prevent, manage and navigate a wide range of health concerns. She cares for conditions including diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, COPD, heart disease, obesity and thyroid disorders, and she also focuses on preventive health. Her special clinical interests include lifestyle medicine, obesity medicine and helping patients lower their risk of chronic disease through sustainable lifestyle changes.

After earning her Master of Public Health in epidemiology and biostatistics from Washington University in St. Louis, Dr. Eapen earned her medical degree from Saba University School of Medicine. She then completed an internal medicine residency at UCSF Fresno, where she received the Resident of Outstanding Strength and Tenacity Award. She is a member of the American College of Physicians.

Patients describe Dr. Eapen as compassionate and a true listener. She takes time to understand what matters most to each person and works together with them to build a thoughtful, personalized plan. Her goal is to make sure every patient feels heard, respected and comfortable sharing what's on their mind. Visits with her include a warm, judgment-free conversation about concerns, followed by a clear plan that supports both immediate needs and long-term health goals.

Building meaningful relationships with her patients is what brings Dr. Eapen her most joy. In particular, hearing kind words from patients and watching them reach their health goals reminds her why she chose medicine in the first place.

Outside of work, Dr. Eapen enjoys spending time with family, trying new restaurants, traveling and exploring the outdoors through hiking and camping.
