About

Professional Statement

Dr. Conor Grady was raised believing that everyone has a duty to leave their community better than they found it. That sense of purpose led him to join the Air Force and later attend medical school, where he discovered his passion for neurosurgery. He was drawn to the field because the human nervous system is the most complex part of the body, and caring for it requires careful planning, technical skill and precision.

Dr. Grady specializes in neurosurgery and treats patients ages 18 and older. He cares for scoliosis, complex spinal deformity, degenerative spine disease, tumors of the spinal column and spinal cord, herniated discs, spinal stenosis, cervical and thoracic myelopathy, radiculopathy, brain tumors, skull base tumors and cranial and spinal trauma. His special clinical interests include minimally invasive spinal surgery, spinal oncology and complex spinal deformity.

He earned his medical degree from Yale School of Medicine and his bachelor's degrees in history and biology, both with distinction, from the University of Virginia. Now, he is joining NorthBay after having completed his neurosurgery residency at New York University and a fellowship at UCSF. He is a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the American Association of Neurosurgeons.

Dr. Grady believes good care starts with good communication. Before any treatment can be planned, he makes sure patients understand their diagnosis and that he understands their goals, as well as how they have been impacted by their disease. Visits include a careful review of imaging, followed by a full discussion of surgical and non-surgical options. Patients coming to see Dr. Grady can expect a collaborative clinic where expert staff, physician assistants and nurses all play a role in their care, and every visit ends with a clear understanding of their health and next steps.

He takes great pride and joy in all areas of his work. Some of his brightest moments come from empowering patients by helping them understand their health and seeing patients recover and reach their goals. He also loves working alongside his care team.

Outside of work, Dr. Grady enjoys running on local roads and trails, going to concerts and relaxing at home with his wife and their two dachshunds.
