Alemseghed Weldegabriel Abraha, MD

Dr. Alem Abraha's path to medicine began caring for patients as a pharmacist in both hospital and community settings. While working as a pharmacist, he saw firsthand how the right medication could change a patient's life. That experience inspired him to go back to school and become a family medicine physician, where he could combine his knowledge of pharmacy and medicine to provide more complete care.

Specializing in family medicine, Dr. Abraha sees patients of all ages. He treats a wide range of conditions, including high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, asthma, COPD, thyroid disorders, anxiety, depression, infections, skin conditions and joint pain. He also provides preventive care, wellness exams, vaccinations and health screenings, with special clinical interests in preventive medicine and chronic disease management. His background in pharmacy gives him a unique ability to help patients manage complex medications and treatments safely and effectively.

Dr. Abraha earned his medical degree from Trinity School of Medicine and his Doctor of Pharmacy from Loma Linda University. He has worked in several roles at Adventist Hospital Hanford, including as a family medicine resident and pharmacist. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.

Patients visiting Dr. Abraha enjoy his approachable and caring nature. They can expect a welcoming and respectful visit where their concerns are his top priority. He takes time to listen carefully, perform thorough evaluations and explain conditions and treatment in plain language. He works to create care plans that fit each patient's health goals and lifestyle, and makes sure every patient leaves feeling informed, supported and confident in their next steps.

Dr. Abraha believes the best care starts with trust, respect and open communication. He strives to treat his patients the way he hopes his own family would be treated. By centering kindness, compassion and evidence-based care, he works alongside patients to help them take an active role in their health. Building long-term relationships and celebrating health wins, big and small, brings him the greatest joy in his work.

Outside of work, Dr. Abraha enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, staying active and traveling.
